The explanation on the page above is not very clear.
Here is a more detailed step by step instruction to get it working.
- Create a Google Analytics account if you don't already have one http://www.google.com/analytics/
- Log in to your Google Analytics account from this page http://www.google.com/analytics/ , do this by clicking the "Access Analytics" button.
- Now click the settings link at the top or the cog icon in the top right corner(doing so should list your connected accounts)
- Click the account you want to add your blog to.
- Click the button named "New Web Property".
- Fill in the form that comes up and click the button "Create property". Make sure to add your blogs url in the field called "Website's URL". Note: Remove the http from the url in the field. It is already available in a drop list to the left of the field.
- Now click the link to your blog in the list of tracked sites.
- Click the tracking code tab.
- Copy your " Web Property ID" it will look something like this UA-XXXXX-X
- Now log in to your Blogger blog.
- Click the "settings" link.
- Now click the "other" link that appears below the "settings" link.
- In the field "Analytics Web Property ID" in the Google Analytics section at the bottom of that page you can paste the "Web Property ID" you copied before.
- That's all! The easiest way to see if it is working is to go to the REAL-TIME(BETA) section in the Google Analytics new version. If you don't have Real-Time activated you just have to wait until Google Analytics harvests the result for the first time.
Note that the Google Analytics implementation only works for the mobile and dynamic views. The classic views doesn't have this functionality.
Thanks. This has been very helpful.
ReplyDeleteNo problems. I thought someone would appreciate more detailed instructions for how to do this.
