You have set the Media server up for www.plexapp.com. Now you connect a client(Plex Media Center) to the server. Everything looks great and is very responsive. Now you fire up a movie and you notice how the sounds is all out of synch. The same thing with the TV shows. After tearing your hair out and trying all different media formats you find the setting for audio delay when playing the movies. You find out how much you need to adjust the sound offset and now you have the audio in synch. This is all good except for that this setting is not global and you have to do this EVERY time you want to watch a movie.
The Solution:
In Plex 0.9.5 there is a setting in the guisettings.xml file to take care of this problem.
Make sure to use the time you came up with when adjusting every individual movie/TV Show.

How do I solve constant audio/video delays?
Some setups that output at "24p" can have small audio/video synchronization issues where the audio is slightly ahead of the video. For such issues in which the sync is constant, you can set a global audio offset for the 0.9.5 or newer desktop client. Find the following file:
OS X:
~/Library/Application Support/Plex/userdata/guisettings.xml
~/Library/Application Support/Plex/userdata/guisettings.xml
Windows XP, Server 2003 and Home Server:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Plex\userdata\guisettings.xml
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Plex\userdata\guisettings.xml
Windows Vista, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, and Windows 7:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex\userdata\guisettings.xml
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex\userdata\guisettings.xml
Open the file in a text editor and set the value for "audiodelay":
<audiodelay>-0.250000</audiodelay>
The actual value you use will depend on how big of a delay you have. The above example adjusts by 0.25 seconds.

Note: This only works if you have the same lag in all your movies. If it is only for some movies it is more likely to be a problem with the individual files.
